The fifth-generation Toyota 4-Runner, an updated, restyled version for 2020, is essentially the same car built on the Toyota Prado 150 chassis, featuring the same reliable 4.0 V6 (1GR-FE) gasoline engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a body-on-frame design, along with Toyota's robust and reliable suspension. The car can rightfully be called an SUV. The main changes in the restyled version concern the Toyota Safety Sense safety systems—adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance system, and lane keeping. A nice touch is automatic high beams. There are also improvements to the multimedia system, a more modern instrument panel design, and, most importantly, support for Apple Car Play and Android Auto—a feature that modern drivers will definitely appreciate.
